1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "Player", or "you") and the Tennis Club Team ("we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Tennis Club mobile application and related software services (collectively, the "Service").
By downloading, installing, registering for, or using Tennis Club, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility & Account Security
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction to consent to digital services) to register an account.
- Account Integrity: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete profile information during registration and keep your profile details updated.
- Credential Confidentiality: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities occurring under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@tennis-club.org if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One Account Per Player: Each tennis player is permitted to operate only one active account. Creating secondary or "smurf" accounts to manipulate rankings is strictly prohibited.
3. Nature of the Service & Physical Activity Disclaimer
Tennis Club is a technology platform designed to help tennis enthusiasts connect, arrange friendly or competitive matches, and log match outcomes to calculate dynamic ELO skill ratings and city leaderboards.
Tennis is an athletic sport involving vigorous physical exertion, court movements, and potential environmental hazards. By participating in in-person matches coordinated through Tennis Club:
- You represent that you are physically fit and healthy enough to engage in tennis activities.
- You are solely responsible for booking appropriate tennis court facilities, inspecting court safety, wearing adequate footwear/gear, and monitoring weather conditions.
- Tennis Club does not operate tennis courts, does not supervise matches, and assumes no liability whatsoever for bodily injuries, medical emergencies, illness, property loss, or personal disputes occurring during in-person matches.
4. Community Standards & Code of Conduct
We are dedicated to maintaining a friendly, welcoming, and sportsmanlike environment for players of all skill levels. When using our in-app chat, challenge features, and profile tools, you agree NOT to:
- Send abusive, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, defamatory, or discriminatory messages to other players.
- Use offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate usernames or profile pictures.
- Spam other users with unsolicited commercial advertising or unauthorized solicitations.
- Impersonate another tennis player, coach, club official, or platform administrator.
- Attempt to stalk, intimidate, or compromise the safety of any user both online and on the court.
Users can block unwanted players directly in the app using the built-in blocking feature and submit reports to our safety team.
5. Match Reporting & Fair Play Enforcement
The integrity of the Tennis Club ELO rating engine depends on honest, accurate score reporting by both participants:
- Consensus Reporting: Following the conclusion of a match, both players must submit their respective result (win, loss, or cancellation). When both players submit consistent results, ELO ratings are updated and Fair Play scores improve.
- Anti-Conflict & Penalty System: If both players dishonestly claim victory ("Conflict"), the match is automatically cancelled, no ELO victory points are awarded, and Fair Play Points are penalized for both accounts.
- Prohibition of Match Fixing & Rating Manipulation: Intentionally logging fraudulent games, staging false victories, or colluding with other players to artificially inflate ratings constitutes a material breach of these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property & User Content
- Tennis Club IP: All rights, title, and interest in the Tennis Club application—including source code, UI designs, logos, rating algorithms, and software features—are the exclusive property of the Tennis Club Team.
- User-Generated Content: You retain ownership of the photos (avatars), text, and descriptions you upload. By submitting content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display your avatar, username, and tennis statistics to other users within the app in connection with the Service.
7. Account Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right, at our reasonable discretion, to issue warnings, restrict features, suspend, or permanently ban any user account that:
- Violates these Terms of Service or our Community Standards;
- Repeatedly generates match conflicts or engages in proven score tampering;
- Engages in hostile, offensive, or abusive conduct toward fellow players;
- Attempts to compromise the security, infrastructure, or code of the Application.
You may terminate your account at any time using the self-service deletion option described in our Account Deletion Portal.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the application will always operate uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that matchmaking availability will be guaranteed in every geographical region.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the Tennis Club Team and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of goodwill, equipment damage, or personal injury resulting from your use of the Service or interaction with other players.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Spain.
